Description We are in search of a Payroll Specialist to join our team in Iron Mountain, Michigan. As a Payroll Specialist, you will handle a variety of tasks related to payroll processing, tax filing, and account management. This hybrid role offers a long term contract employment opportunity and includes processing payroll for a diverse group of employees, managing trust accounts, and keeping track of employee benefits and time-offs. Responsibilities: • Accurately process weekly payroll for a diverse group of employees • Handle filing of federal and state payroll taxes • Oversee and manage IBEW trust accounts • Keep track of wage changes as per union contracts • Upload and manage retirement plan and HSA contributions • Maintain and manage FMLA time for employees • Keep employee files updated in the ERP system • Track and record vacation and sick leave accrual for all staff members • Regularly post cash receipts • Process accounts payable vouchers as required • Run checks for accounts payable on a weekly basis • Show willingness to work extended hours when necessary. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems • Experience with ADP - Financial Services • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now • Knowledge of Ceridian and Dayforce systems • Experience in 401k - RRSP Administration • Familiarity with About Time software • Solid understanding of Accounting Functions • Auditing skills • Experience in Benefit Functions Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
