Description We are offering a unique opportunity in Norfolk, Virginia for a Payroll Specialist. This role operates within the financial services industry, providing a critical function in the processing and management of payroll for our team. The position is based on-site and offers a short term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: • Accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll for both salaried and hourly employees. • Oversee payroll operations for specific programs, including resource allocation based on services rendered. • Support the accounts payable process as needed. • Ensure accurate record-keeping of all payroll activities. • Address and resolve any payroll-related inquiries from employees. • Utilize ADP for various payroll and financial services tasks. • Monitor employee accounts and initiate appropriate actions when necessary. • Conduct virtual training for the incumbent in the role. Requirements • Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in a role similar to a Payroll Specialist. • Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services is crucial for this role. • Applicants should be well-versed in ADP - Payroll. • A comprehensive understanding of payroll procedures, laws, and regulations is expected. • The ability to handle confidential information in a discreet and detail-oriented manner is required. • A strong understanding of tax and wage laws is necessary. • Applicants should possess excellent numerical skills and attention to detail. • Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines are essential. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, is expected.
