Responsible for performing a wide variety of payroll operations activities. Process assigned payroll in a timely and accurate manner while ensuring all payroll transactions adhere to company policies and government regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Ensure that all employees are paid timely and accurately with the correct earnings, withholdings, and deductions. Responsible for the assigned daily operations of both payroll and banking, while ensuring timely customer service to all internal stakeholders.
ResponsibilitiesProcess payroll with various frequency schedules on a timely basis through the Payroll System for assigned areas allowing adequate time for direct deposit transactions, check printing, and distribution. This includes the daily operation of assigned payroll.Collect and analyze employee payroll data every pay period and audit monthly payroll received from payroll systems. Review supporting documentation ensuring completeness and accuracy prior to processing while validating payroll preview reporting prior to submission.Ensure the payment of payroll taxes and other payroll deductions such as life insurance, medical/dental insurance, garnishments, union dues, etc., to vendors processed timely. This includes wire requests via bank modules to release payments by compiling appropriate reports prior to submission for payment.Maintain internal audit and government regulatory integrity by adhering to internal payroll controls and guidelines.Monitor changes in guidelines and regulations pertinent to payroll, retirement, and benefits.Provide World Class customer service by addressing, researching, and resolving questions and queries submitted to the department.Perform other job-related functions as assigned.Skills & Qualifications2 years of accounting and/or payroll experience is required.Working experience of PeopleSoft HR-Payroll and Financials systems, ADP Smart Compliance, ADP SmartView, and FIDELIO preferred.Experience working with Unions, Collective Bargaining Agreements and Employment Contracts preferred.Meticulous with a proven record to maintain high standard of accuracy.Strong analytical and research skills to analyze data and identify discrepancies to resolution.Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word). Must have a high level of experience with Microsoft Excel.Ability to work well in fast-paced environments, meet deadlines, and maintain high quality of work.Maintain confidentiality when working with employee records and business information.Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
