Job Description:

Operations:

Assist with processing and requests for foreign national taxation Assist with various tax or status adjustments as needed Process incoming requests to add foreign-sourced vendors Request and process updated tax treaty renewal forms Run, analyze, review, and follow up on results of various queries of payroll tax data to provide timely corrections as needed and ensure accuracy

 

Communications and Customer Service:

Manage daily interactions with departments and personnel regarding their questions, requests for guidance, and discussions on employment and foreign visitor taxes and statuses to foster a collaborative culture. Collaborate frequently with partners in Human Resources and the International Center to assist foreign visitors and provide a positive onboarding experience Maintain collaborative relationships with key University, State, and Federal Agency stakeholders and colleagues to enhance relations and engagement through the distribution of clear and consistent communications.

Technical

Prepares tax deposits and reconciliations, including but not limited to Federal and 1042-S reporting Prepares and fulfills various monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and requests

Compliance:

Review and assesses appropriate taxation statuses in both payroll and FNIS systems Ensure that departmental documents and training materials are up to date and meet current standards set by the administration

Continuous Improvement:

Proactively analyze current processes, recommend solutions to leadership, and support implementation.

 

Special Projects:

Other duties as assigned by the department leadership Expected Salary:

$46,000 - $51,000

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and one year of appropriate experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

This position must be proficient in Microsoft Office.

Familiarity with payroll and foreign visitor systems and payroll, tax, & international tax requirements.

 

Ability to work and maintain effective working relationships with others; to understand, interpret, and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures; to analyze and solve problems, interpret and recommend solutions or changes; to effectively communicate in writing and orally; to complete work according to scheduled deadlines; to work with limited supervision; to be reliable, and to work both in a team and independently.
