Payroll Specialist
Job Title: Payroll SpecialistJob Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to process bi-weekly payroll for both hourly and salaried employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate will maintain payroll records, verify timesheets, and resolve discrepancies while ensuring adherence to federal, state, and company policies. This role involves preparing and submitting payroll reports, assisting with audits, and responding to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters. Responsibilities + Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance. + Maintain payroll records, including wages, deductions, benefits, and garnishments. + Verify timesheets and resolve discrepancies with employees and supervisors. + Ensure payroll transactions comply with federal, state, and company policies. + Prepare and submit payroll reports and assist with audits as needed. + Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and tax withholdings. + Assist in processing new hires, terminations, and pay adjustments in the payroll system. + Collaborate with HR and Accounting teams to ensure payroll accuracy and data integrity. Essential Skills + Payroll processing + Kronos + Payroll tax + Data entry + Excel pivot tables + Excel data entry + Payroll accounting + Journal entry Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school diploma or equivalent required. + 3 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. + Knowledge of payroll systems (ADP, Paycom, or similar) and timekeeping software. + Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements. + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data entry. + High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality. + Strong organizational and communication skills. Work Environment This position is based in an office environment, working closely with a team of three other payroll specialists and reporting to the payroll manager. The role is completely onsite with standard hours from 8 am to 5 pm, with no flexibility in schedule. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
