Payroll Specialist I
**Description** **_MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:_** + Reviews, analyzes and checks payroll forms and reports for accuracy and makes necessary adjustments or corrections. + Sets up and reconciles voluntary payroll deductions, prepares reports, identifies and researches exceptions. + Completes appropriate forms for special wage/salary payouts and adjustments or to correct or balance a special situation. + Researches, analyzes and resolves payroll-related problems or questions. + Recommends or participates in the development of new procedures and policies related to payroll operations utilizing knowledge of Mistras, state and federal policies and regulations. + Coordinates and interacts with federal and state agencies on issues pertaining to employee compensation, general deductions, benefits and retirement. + Compiles and analyzes payroll data, makes recommendations and determinations and prepares related reports. + Issues W-2 Wage and Tax Statement reprints. + Processes and maintains W-4 tax data and changes in personal data. + Process Certified Payroll reports. + Reconciles payrolls prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports. + Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.Provide ad hoc reports. + Responsible for all aspects of the Audit Sox Reporting + Responsible for any training in UKG that would affect the payroll department. **_MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:_** + High school diploma and three years of related experience in an accounting or payroll function3 to 5 years’ experience. + Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. + Experience with UKG products, including UKG Pro and Pro Workforce Management (formerly Dimensions), a plus. \#LI-KT1 **_ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:_** • Frequent lifting up to 30 lbs.
