Responsibilities: Performs all duties of Payroll Specialist and other duties including processing information between HR and Payroll, preparing general ledger files, reviewing system output such as payroll registers and standard reports, determining and correcting out-of-balance conditions, researching and preparing special reports for management, understands garnishments and levies. Understands accounting, general ledger entries, imputed income, payroll taxes, and pre-tax calculations.; Can calculate a check from gross to net.; Assists with internal & external audit requests.; May train less experienced payroll associates. Brings new thoughts, ideas, and solutions to the table. Participates in effective brainstorming and other discussions.; Recommends process improvements.; Takes initiative and is proactive with regards to current and new payroll changes. Education/Experience: + H.S Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. + CPP preferred. + Requires at least 5 years of payroll experience. + Extensive knowledge of payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control & payroll taxes + Experience in documenting processes, as well as performing diagnostic testing and audit. + Able to manage multiple priorities, be results oriented, show initiative, and creativity. + Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. **Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion** At Amerihealth Caritas, everyone can feel valued, supported, and comfortable to be themselves.
