Payroll Supervisor

 

Primary objective of the job: 

The Payroll Supervisor will oversee and supervise the organizations payroll functions, ensuring that pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Participate on recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training new staff in the department Ensure that payroll is processed timely and accurately Review payroll calculations, deductions, insurance coverage, wage garnishments, tax filings, and child support Maintains or oversees the maintenance of employee records Address payroll related queries and requests from employees Provide support in tax calculation and filing for employees Ensures compliance with local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors Review and recommend improvements to existing payroll procedures Analyse payroll problems and provide appropriate resolutions Performs other payroll related duties assigned on a need-to basis Oversee employee payroll accounting, transactions and reporting activities Provide assistance as well as constructive and timely performance evaluations to direct reports Handle discipline of employees in accordance with company policy Adhere and enforce adherence to the payroll SOP

 

Academic Qualifications and Experience Required:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required 4+ years of experience in payroll processing required with two years in a supervisory or management role preferred

 

Functional Skills:

 

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Proficient with payroll software
