Daikin Applied is seeking a Payroll Supervisor! At Daikin Applied - the Payroll Supervisor manages and administers the complex payroll processing for Canada and is responsible for monitoring the day-to-day activities of US payroll processing for the Payroll team by ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local, union, provincial and company policies. He or She will serve as a mentor/trainer and assist team members with resolving errors or responding to inquiries. Under intermittent supervision, this key contributor manages the payroll system in partnership with the HRIS and Human Resource teams and is always looking at ways to innovate and optimize the way they work to support the growth of the organization. Location: Hybrid - Plymouth, MN

What you will do: 

Responsible for complex payroll processing in Canada, maintaining compliance with all Provincial laws and regulations while ensuring accuracy of all wage calculations, withholdings, deductions, and changes Supervise designated payroll team members, oversees the daily activities and motivates the payroll team by facilitating communication and creating a supportive work environment Provide oversight and advising on the day to day US Payroll processing ensuring payroll processes are in line with company philosophy and recommend internal control or efficiency enhancements Assist in mentoring / coaching the team to develop the team’s overall payroll knowledge/skills while ensuring compliance with all applicable local, state, provincial, and federal wage and hour laws Assist the team by troubleshooting to resolve errors, respond to escalated payroll concerns, provide constructive feedback Partner with Human Resources to resolve escalated complex payroll cases utilizing research and knowledge Oversee certified payroll reporting to ensure compliance for prevailing wage jobs and assist with escalated/urgent requests Oversee Child Supports Orders, Garnishments, and levies through ADP Smart Compliance Oversee the completion of monthly union fringe benefit reports/payments by provided deadlines Assists with internal and external audits, and tax notices/issues Responsible for all union-related matters, including identifying union updates that affect payroll configuration, keeping the union matrix updated with current rates, maintaining union documents such as all CBA's, and handling any escalated union issues Create and run requested reports to include year-end data, union fringes, GL data and other requested items for both US and Canada Assist the Payroll Manager with year-end tasks and reconciliations for both the US and Canada Maintain employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential

Minimum Qualifications: 

Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position 8+ Years of payroll related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong Canadian Payroll process knowledge Strong US Payroll process knowledge Experience in Union Payroll processing Strong understanding of audit requirements to ensure the business of payroll is compliant Detail-oriented and strong problem-solving skills Good communication and collaboration skills Experience with Payroll Software such as ADP EV5, ADP E-TIME, ADP SmartCompliance Experience with WORKDAY Software
