Payroll Tax & Compliance Specialist (USA & CAN)
Job Description

Job Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated Payroll Tax & Compliance Specialist to join our team and ensure accurate compliance with payroll tax regulations and reporting for our workforce across the U.S. and Canada. This role involves overseeing payroll tax filings, reconciling tax liabilities, and staying updated on evolving tax laws to ensure proper adherence to regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:Compliance & Tax ManagementEnsure strict adherence to federal, state, and provincial payroll tax regulations.Stay vigilant on tax law changes and implement required updates.Prepare and file various payroll-related tax returns.Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to resolve tax issues.Audit & ControlsMaintain compliance with internal and external audit requirements.Establish payroll controls and address any discrepancies found.Support internal and external audits and implement necessary corrective actions.Regulatory ReportingManage tax filings and remittances to authorities in the U.S. and Canada.Track statutory benefits, deductions, and tax payments.Ensure accurate record-keeping and reliable audit trails.Collaboration & Employee SupportWork closely with HR, Finance, and IT teams to enhance payroll accuracy.Provide compliance training and guidance to payroll teams.Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll taxes and deductions.Required Skills & Qualifications:

Education & Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Preferably holds a CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification.Having an ACPA (Accredited Canadian Payroll Administrator) certification is a bonus.

Experience:

At least 5 years of experience in payroll tax compliance, with a minimum of 2 years dealing with U.S. and Canadian payroll tax regulations.Proficient in payroll systems, tax filings, and year-end reporting.Demonstrated expertise in audit management and compliance.

Skills & Competencies:

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to analyze and interpret complex tax laws.Strong problem-solving and time-management abilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and various payroll software.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Danfoss – Engineering Tomorrow
