High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Observes SMH dress code.

Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm and effective manner.

Clear and courteous speaking manner.

Operates multiple position telephone switchboards to relay incoming and out going callsComplete knowledge of the hospital beeper system.Knowledge of hospital departments, services, and visitation policies.Ability to use the hospital computer system to locate patients and enter department charges.Maintains accurate ambulance log and confirms correct charges.Respects confidentiality of patient information at all times.Light filing duties within the departmentKnows to follow universal precautions for infection control.
