As a Fabric Care Controls Engineer, you will provide technical leadership and coordinate the machine control external ecosystem to support a new business initiative within the Fabric Care sector. This role, based in Cincinnati, is critical for leading and supporting construction and startup activities at our manufacturing facility. You will ensure adherence to all required performance metrics while integrating lessons learned into future line designs. As part of the Fabric Care North America Engineering team, you will be instrumental in driving the adoption of new technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead machine control activities at equipment fabrication partner locations and our facilities, necessitating travel as required.
Develop innovative solutions that address evolving business needs and enhance operational efficiency.
Collaborate with the team to execute the full line software emulation and validation scope.
Engage in machine safety validation and code compliance activities alongside third-party inspectors, applying Engineering Work Processes to ensure a successful startup of new production lines.
3-6 years of Controls Engineering Experience.
Manage engineering contractors (design & programming) to meet ongoing project demands efficiently.
Job Qualifications
Technical Expertise:
Mastery in Machine Controls Technologies: Proficient in Continuous Process Control, Instruments, Control Logix PLCs, Wonderware, Motion Control, Vision Systems, Network Architecture Design, AI/AR technologies, Variable Frequency Drives, Robotics, Advanced Sensing Technologies, Server Technologies, and Safe Work Practices. Familiarity with Global/Regional/Local Electrical Design Codes is essential.P&G Standards: Experience with Procter & Gamble’s Electrical and Controls standards is highly desirable.IT Knowledge: Understanding of IT security measures including virus and malware protection, network segmentation, access control, and firewalls.Leadership and Communication:
Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills with the ability to set standards, role model, and guide technical direction.Proven ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines and departments, building consensus and aligning technical strategies.Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
Ability to analyze complex technical details, identify opportunities, and leverage machine control technologies to address challenging business needs.Understand cost and scheduling constraints, differentiating between Low-Cost Solutions and Total Cost of Ownership, and applying the appropriate approach.Project Management:
Demonstrated capability to manage projects, assess staffing requirements, and develop and communicate staffing plans with recommended options.Experience in Best Value Options Analysis, leading group discussions, and driving projects to conclusion.Effective communication with Leadership to articulate recommended strategies and develop risk mitigation plans when necessary.Core Values:
