Position Summary: 

The PC Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining, configuring, installing, and troubleshooting of company owned hardware and software systems. Provides IT related customer service and technical support to all users company-wide.

 

Essential Duties:

Installs new or upgrades PC, printer, and accessory equipment for individual users.Maintains an accurate inventory of all PCs and PC-related equipment.Responds to assigned Help Desk tickets within established guidelines.Maintains favorable customer relations by handling requests in a tactful, timely and professional manner.Empowers end users by training and educating.Participates in after hours on-call rotation for the Production Support group.Interacts with network services and/or applications development teamsMaintains currency and high level of technical skill in field of expertise.Escalates more complex problems using Departmental resources and Product SupportPerforms other duties as assigned. 

 

Position Requirements:

Associate’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is requiredUp to 2 years hands-on support experience or equivalentWorking knowledge of PC hardware, network printers, and phone systemsWorking knowledge of Microsoft desktop operating systems and Microsoft Office productsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsStrong customer-service orientation at all timesccasional travel may be requiredMust possess demonstrated analytical and problem solving skillsMust be able to effectively communicate with individuals within all levels of the organization.Must be dependable and motivatedRegular and timely attendance is required

 

Physical Requirements:

This is an office position requiring the use of office equipment such as a computer, copier, fax, phone, etc. most of the dayWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to type, finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and armsFrequently required to sit; talk and hearMust be able to stand and walk out onto production floor and walk to offices as neededWork may include frequent kneeling and stoopingWork may include lifting objects weighing up to and sometimes exceeding 50 pounds
