Summary:
+ Position Summary: Provide personal computer and printer support to all entities to include - developing specifications according to user needs, installation of hardware and software, and maintenance of hardware and software. Inventories and performs preventative maintenance on all personal computer hardware and software.
+ Qualified individuals must have the ability with or without reasonable accommodation to perform the following duties:
+ Performs hardware support for users, including developing specifications to users’ requirements and organizational standards and installation to the network for approved hardware products.
+ Performs technical diagnostics for approved hardware products to determine the means of repair warranty, repair company .
+ Performs software support for users, including developing specifications to users’ requirements and organizational standards and installation of said software of approved software products.
+ Performs problem determination for approved software products to determine the means of interventions vendor, training, etc.
+ Performs preventative maintenance on a regular schedule to assure all devices are functional and performing to specification.
+ Interfaces directly with both Tier 3 support , vendors and personal computer users for hardware problems
+ Train users on proper operating procedures.
+ Interfaces directly with both central computer processor and personal computer users for hardware problems and trains users on proper operating procedures.
+ Interfaces directly with LAN and WAN specialists to assure proper specification development, installation, and maintenance of all devices and software.
+ Performs benchmarking of hardware software to establish organizational standards.
+ Researches, evaluates and recommends new technology to meet future organization requirements.
+ Works with end users, technical staff and vendors to develop and implement solutions to unique problems or needs - special projects.
+ Provides documentation and knowledge transfer for when project transition to operational support
+ Ability to determine when an incident needs to be escalated to beyond Tier 2 support, when neither a solution nor workaround could be found
+ Repairs selected personal computers and printers not under warranty.
+ Provides high quality customer service through courteous, prompt and accurate communication.
+ The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above:
+ Updates PC log database for all hardware software problems.
+ Provides input and feedback on technical documentation for knowledge base and supporting documentation.
+ Performs other duties as requested by Supervisor PC Services and Support
+ Participates in other IT service groups and committees
+ Participates in the on-call responsibilities for this position as required.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Minimum Required Qualifications:
+ HS diploma or equivalent GED .
+ Associates degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Certification as an A+ PC specialist - or equivalent experience.
+ Three 3 to five 5 years of personal computer hardware software experience.
+ Three 3 to five 5 years of electronic diagnostic experience with PC equipment repair.
+ Two 2 years of client server experience.
+ Three 3 to five 5 years in customer service related position.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Associate degree in computer science or electronics and certification as a Microsoft Engineer
