PCA Med Surg Full Time Days Position Summary

Provides individualized, culture-specific patient care by attending to the personal needs and comfort of patients, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Assists the professional or licensed nurse as delegated in tasks requiring less technical skills. Participates in shift and bedside report. Participates and supports regional, facility, department, and unit initiatives.
Special Skill: Excellent customer service skills; basic computer skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact positively and effectively with patients, visitors and health care team members. Knowledge of patient rights, aseptic/sterile technique and infection control best practices.


THE PCA MED SURG FULL TIME DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Diploma/GED or a valid CNA or PCA/PCT Certificate

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: N/A

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: One year of experience as a nursing assistant in an acute care setting.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: CPR.

REQUIRED COURSE(S) TRAINING: EKG training in selected units.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATION: CNA/LNA from the Arizona State Board of Nursing
