Nextest, a Division of Teradyne is looking for a highly motivated and talented PCBA Manufacturing Engineer to join our New Product Introduction (NPI) team based in San Jose, California. We are a small, close-knit team working in an exciting, fast-paced, focused atmosphere. You can make a huge impact to this organization where, what matters most is our success in bringing new products to market quickly. + Must have domain knowledge of PCBA manufacturing processes (stencils, wave soldering, flying probe, x-ray, etc). + Collaborates with hardware design engineering and DFM engineer in Design for Manufacturability reviews through New Product Introduction process. + Manufacturing fixture design including all fixture design related validations, build, documentation, and handoff to high volume production. + Write assembly instructions for our instruments and collaborates with engineers to troubleshoot any issues that arise. + Ensure new PCBA boards are built in compliance with IPC standards. + Define Manufacturing process specifications and design. + Develop and implement new processes and procedures. + Humanize production equipment through ergonomic and safety considerations. + Provide capital equipment investment plans. + Conduct capacity planning. + Define manufacturing layouts for effective workflow. + Create and Implement Engineering Change Notices to update BOMs and drawings. + Monitor and drive quality improvement at suppliers and internally. + Develop and provide training to assembly personnel. + Work with suppliers on manufacturing defect root cause investigation and resolutions. + Ability to manage multiple projects across different product lines and teams and communicate project timelines and action plans effectively. If you’re ready to join us in this mission, take a closer look at the minimum criteria for the position. + BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering + Min. 5 years of PCBA manufacturing experience + Project management skills preferred + Experience using Jira preferred + Flexible to work with global suppliers with multiple time zones + Familiar with IPC standards (IPC-A-600/IPC-A-610/IPC 7711/IPC 7721) + Familiar with ISO standards + Mature logical thinker and organized team player with a high sense of urgency and motivation + Must be able to find creative ways to solve problems + Recognition of when a problem must be escalated is critical and recommend solutions + Able to travel - 10% Compensation: The base salary range for this role is $101,900 - $163,000. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location. Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
