PCC Assistant Supervisor (FBTX)

Provide oversight of all maintenance programs and logistical support systems that support the maintenance of automotive, emergency, construction, armament, electronics, special purpose, and biological equipment sections. Responsible to verify that all maintenance requirements are achieved to the customer’s satisfaction. The period of performance for this position is not to exceed more than one year, may extend to fulfil mission requirements. Responsibilities MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Assistant Supervisor for a team of 9 Production Control Clerks and serves as the senior customer service representative in the absence of the supervisor. Passes on the supervisor’s instructions to other workers, aids in operational work instruction as necessary; assigns the immediate tasks to individual team members. Checks work while in progress and when finished to ensure the supervisor's instructions on work sequences; procedures, methods, and deadlines have been met. Compiles and records production data to compare records and reports on volume of production, consumption of material quality control and other aspects of production. Compiles and records production data from customer orders, work tickets, product specifications, and individual worker production sheets. Prepares production reports and CDRLs based on data compiled, tabulated and computed from the Global Combat Support System – Army (GCSS-A) and other relevant logistics information systems (LIS). Attends monthly safety meetings/classes and ensures appropriate literature is displayed and available in accordance with government regulations and policies. Maintains a current and relevant knowledge of Army logistics policies, guidelines, procedures and LIS. Monitors various maintenance information systems to analyze data, identify discrepancies, and correct causes that may result in delays or stoppages. Remains abreast to system updates and Army Regulations as it pertains to outlined section. Serves as the section’s safety monitor. Ensures the section adheres to OSHA governing rules and regulations. Tracks and conducts follow-ups on the section’s supply requisitions. Ensures team members follow safety and housekeeping rules and governing regulations. MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED: Extensive use of a desktop computer and multi-functional device. Steel Toe shoes may be required. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes, but is not limited to: head, foot, hand, vision and hearing protective devices. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work will typically be conducted in a temperature-controlled office environment in a stationary position approximately 75 percent of the time or more with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment. Employee may occasionally be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. A normal work week is 40 hours (5 days a week). Must be willing to work additional hours when mission requires. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: Work requires sitting, standing, walking, climbing, bending and routine lifting of equipment and boxes in an office environment. Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading. Must be able to function in office environment in a stationary position for extended periods of time. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certifications: Must have an associate degree or equivalent experience in Maintenance Logistics and Military Maintenance Operations. Above average knowledge of the logistic information polices, process and system that pertain to Maintenance, Supply and Services, and Transportation Services. Knowledge and experience with Logistic Information System, such as Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army), Logistic Information Warehouse (LIW), and Federal Logistics Information System (FLIS)/FEDLOG. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) and SharePoint is required. Must have or able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and successfully pass a NACI background investigation. Valid state driver’s license required. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Must have a minimum of five years of military Maintenance Logistics experience. Requires a general familiarity with computer input elements to perform functional activities such as data entry, data verification, transaction preparation and reprocessing of corrections. Must be proficient in GCSS-Army, Microsoft Office applications, and Army Enterprise Portal (AESIP) applications. Organizational, analytical, written and oral communication skills, possessing basic proficiency in English language (reading & writing). Must have a comprehensive knowledge of supply and services, and transportation operations. Must have a comprehensive knowledge of Army governing regulations, policies and procedures. Must possess the ability to understand operating procedures, work Instructions, Army regulations, military and commercial technical manuals, and applicable Department of Defense forms. Must be able to work independently or in a team-based, highly collaborative environment. Must be able to interpret U.S. Army Technical Manuals with relation to vehicle maintenance and repair. Must be capable of dealing with customers in a professional and courteous manner. Must be able to accurately input data. Must have the ability to work independently and in a team-based, highly collaborative environment. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with subordinates, peers and senior personnel.
