PCM Commercial Property F/H/X
The PCM Commercial Property FRANCE is responsible for:• Develops, monitors and influences the deployment of the Commercial Property underwriting strategy (including talent management) and P&L, product development, executing upon agreed local strategies within global ‘guardrails;• Manages key broker and client relationships across France;• Driving the interaction with Distribution, Claims, Actuarial, Finance, Risk Engineering and other functions to achieve product and company goals;• Supports the teams in making business decisions that leverage their expertise and experience in combination with powerful, analytical models;• Champions and drives continuous professional development of the Commercial Property team across France;• Ensures the required standards of governance, systems and controls, and regulatory compliance are established and maintained, setting a strong framework and culture of risk management within Commercial Property France, particularly cycle management;• Leads the development and ongoing maintenance of the Company’s customer centric and risk management culture.
Business Management:• Develops / monitors / manages the Commercial Property Underwriting Strategy for France;• Management responsibility for the Commercial Property Underwriting team and resource management in close coordination with the country GM and the global product towers;• Assumption of budget responsibility for the profit centre Commercial Property France in coordination with the Head of Property FBL and EMEA, including evaluation of the financial and technical Underwriting performance against the strategic business plan of Commercial Property France;• Management of the day-to-day business for the profit centre;• Responsibility for a profitable, growing portfolio, including channel management/planning and go-to-market strategy in collaboration with CBE;• Handling of the most important broker and customer relationships in France in close conjunction with the Commercial Property Underwriting Team and CBE;• Escalation and contact person for brokers and customers;• Act as Compliance Sanctions Coordinator and Risk Event Coordinator for Commercial Property France;• Develop procedures for emerging (product) risks and propose appropriate mitigation strategies.
External Relationship Management:• Representing AIG to major clients and brokers in close conjunction with the Commercial Property Underwriting Team;• Expand and enhance the AIG brand, including ensuring Commercial Property Underwriting Team representation in Industry Organizations;• Managing regulatory and external director stakeholder relationships;• Deal with relevant stakeholders on a regular basis to gather information required for qualifying and quantifying current customer needs as well as emerging risks and exposure.
People Management • Making hiring and resource allocation and development decisions for resources in France, in alignment with the regional and global governance structure and ensuring and fostering a diverse work environment;• Communicating the AIG France vision, mission, and overall GI direction;• Serve as a member of the French Senior Leadership Team.
What we’re looking for:• Successfully completed legal or economics studies; • Experience in the European insurance market and the Commercial Property industry and its development opportunities; • Extensive work experience in the insurance industry;• In-depth knowledge of legal regulations in the Commercial Property sector; • Strong business thinking, sound judgement and analytical skills to lead strategically and results-oriented;• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with different business units and industries, especially with regard to stakeholder management at different hierarchical levels; • Strong experience in change management and team leadership as well as the ability to manage and implement change;• Very good communication skills (written, oral, presentations, training) in French and English.
Leadership Skills:• A track record of financial and operational success in general insurance having delivered profitable growth in the destined region;• A “natural” with clients who can represent AIG effectively and support the introduction, establishment and growth of valuable client relationships in France;• Experienced people leader; a relationship developer and team builder; a strong focus on talent and leadership development; someone who attracts and develops high-caliber talent and who builds diverse, high-performing teams;• Proven ability to manage a broad range of stakeholders;• Highly collaborative approach across functions and geographies;• Ability to manage and influence in a matrix structure and across a wide geography.
Technical Skills and Expertise:• Significant French industry experience, stature, and credibility in one or more product lines; • Several years’ experience in managing country operations or larger functional or product teams within France;• A leader who develops a bold vision and distinct strategies that result in competitive advantaged and is results-oriented, hands-on leader; who sets, pursues and achieves goals for organizational success;• Ability to represent AIG persuasively and effectively in internal and external settings, e.g., client meetings and industry presentations;• Proven track record of successfully operate in an international insurance carrier; • Very good communication & interpersonal skills - fluency in written and spoken French as well as English.
