This job reports to the Quality Inspection Supervisor or Quality Assurance Manager. Performs inspections of: FAI (first article inspection) of newly designed or revised products. Incoming products to ensure proper paperwork is received and parts conform to specifications, engineering and manufacturing order. In-process inspection of parts being manufactured. Sub-assemblies used in the construction of aircrafts. Final products prior to shipment. Equipment used to manufacture and inspect aircraft components. Interprets and reads engineering drawings, company and customer specifications to ensure accurate part manufacturing. Assures an optimal level of manufactured components on the manufacturing floor conform to engineering drawings and / or specifications. Inspects and records information on test models, production models or new parts Perform first article sample part inspections and report findings. Monitors approved processes and procedures used to assure product Quality Gathers inspection data Supports operations and engineering personnel with quickly resolving quality related issues. Spatial Analyzer software knowledge or any other metrology software similar to the one we mentioned would be great. Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred or equivalent experience. Experience: 5 years minimum experience within the quality environment. Computer Skill: Familiar with Windows Operating System®. Other Skills: Qualified candidate must possess ability to use precision measuring instruments. Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications and other technical literature is preferred. Full knowledge and skill set with QA measurement tools Knowledge in operating Portable Coordinate Measuring Machines (PCMM) such as Laser Trackers and Articulate Arms Understanding of ASME Y14.5M Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) Knows and understands Geometry Catia / Enovia Literate and/or 3D Softwares Knowledgeable in basic and advanced 3D Inspection Softwares Knowledge of reading / interpreting engineering notes in 3D MBD set Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Word. Can work independently with minimal supervision Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred or equivalent experience. Experience: 5+ years experience within the portable 3D metrology field / PCMM environment & successful completion of PCMM0001 3D Operators Training Matrix signed off by the PCMM Inspection Supervisor or Quality Manager. Computer Skills: Familiar with Windows Operating System®. Fluent in the use of Spatial Analyzer® and FARO® Utilities 3D software. Other Skills: Qualified candidate must posses' ability to use precision measuring instruments (Laser Tracker & Articulating Arm) independently without supervision. Advanced knowledge of 3D specs and procedures Advanced knowledge of GD&T and how it is applied to Zodiac part families. Ability to read engineering drawings, MBD, customer specifications and other technical literature is required. Full knowledge and skill set with QA measurement tools Advanced working knowledge in operating Portable Coordinate Measuring Machines (PCMM) such as Laser Trackers and Articulate Arms Catia V5 literate (MBD extraction and general referencing only – no design) Knowledgeable in basic and advanced 3D inspection software including Spatial Analyzer® & FARO® Utilities at a minimum.
