PD Cat Scan TechnicianReq #:0000187854 Category:Radiology and Imaging Status:Per Diem Shift:Day Facility:Trinitas Regional Medical Center Department:Cat Scan Location: Williamson Street, 235 Williamson Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07202 Job Overview: The Cat Scan Technician performs exams accurately per established protocols, policy, and patient safety standards. Qualifications: Required: + High School or GED + Completion of an approved Radiology Technology program that meets the requirements set by the ARRT and the NJ State DEP Preferred: + Three years of hospital experience as a staff technologist, with the ability to work with minimal supervision Certifications and Licenses Required: + NJ State License in Radiography + BLS + Must be registered and certified in CT by ARRT Scheduling Requirements: + Per Diem (PD) Essential Functions: + Perform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners, power injectors, and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures + Position patients for CT scans using patient positioning devices and protective equipment as necessary + Assist radiologist with imaging procedures, starting IV's, and injecting contrast, if applicable + Assist radiologist with interventional CT procedures + Evaluate CT scans for technical quality, collate processed images in sequence of exposure and appropriately label + Transmit to Image Archival System + Dispense and or order oral contrast to patients for CT scans + Maintain accurate patient records + Provide orientation and training to new CT technologists + Provide care for the psychological and physical needs of patients and their families for CT scans + Provide education and training to student technologists + Coordinate scheduling and patient flow + Demonstrate proficiency in IV placement for contrast administration + Demonstrate proficiency and accuracy in performance of all exam protocols + Assist radiologists in developing new protocols and CT imaging techniques that are unique to facility Benefits and Perks: At RWJBarnabas Health, our market-competitive Total Rewards package provides comprehensive benefits and resources to support our employees physical, emotional, social, and financial health.
