Job Overview:
The OR Technician assists the surgeon on all assigned procedures. As a team member, the OR Technician will set up rooms for procedures, arrange necessary equipment and mentor new employees as needed.
Come join our 560 Bed Community Hospital with a 10 Room OR/ASC Suite, a heavy concentration in Ortho/Spine and Robotic Surgery, and JCAHO Total Joint Certification.
Qualifications:
Required:
Must meet one of the following requirements:
(a) have successfully completed a nationally or regionally accredited educational program for surgical technologists;
(b) holds and maintain a certified surgical technologist credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or its successor, or other nationally recognized credentialing organization;
(c) have completed an appropriate training program for surgical technology in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard of the United States or in the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps;
(d) be employed as a surgical technologist in a healthcare facility as of December 20, 2011;
or (e) be in the service of the federal government

Promotes and implements the concept of patient and family-centered careObserves and reports to the Registered Nurse patient s response to intervention/treatmentsPromotes a compassionate and supportive environmentAssists in the transport of patient when necessaryRecords vital signs and bedside glucose testing resultsManages the care of the pre, intra, and post-procedural patient according to hospital procedures and standards of careAnticipates patient needs through frequent rounds, observation and communicationCollects specimens; labels accurately and ensures delivery to appropriate departmentRecognizes and reports pertinent observations, changes in patient status, incidents and patient care activities to the professional registered nursePerform other duties as directedReinforces teaching to family and patient and reports any problems to Registered NurseCommunicates and records pertinent information to appropriate individualsAssisting in the transportation of patients to and from the surgical suite and employs safety measures to prevent fall and injuryParticipates in the on-call system for emergenciesRecognizes abnormal vital signs data and verbally reports same directly to the RN caring for the patientAssists in the maintenance, care and cleanliness of supplies and equipmentBenefits and Perks:
