Job Description

Position Purpose

As a PDS Reliability Engineer Intern at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., your role will be to ensure the adherence to quality standards and flawless operation of machines through collaboration with various company functions. This internship offers a unique learning experience in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and Continuous Improvement, providing you with the opportunity to supply to the world-class production of sterile drugs for third parties at our Monza site in Italy.

Main Activities/Training Path:

During this internship, you will gain knowledge of TPM and Lean Management principles through training and practical experience. You will learn to plan activities, lead resources, and transfer knowledge between maintenance and production teams. This will enhance your understanding of the manufacturing process.

You will support the team in supervising project progress, ensuring alignment with priorities and company quality standards, and actively monitor TPM projects to meet goals and maintain quality standards.

Customer Management

You will participate in internal and client meetings to supply to discussions related to technical topics within your area of expertise and propose technical solutions . Share your knowledge and insights during meetings to drive effective decision-making.

Quality

You will develop knowledge in Data Integrity and GMP standards to guarantee the proper execution of relevant controls. Gain a deep understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, ensuring accurate implementation of controls in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Learn how to update procedures, drafting and revising them as needed in compliance with GMP standards. Assist in conducting departmental investigations. and actively participate to contribute to the identification and resolution of quality-related issues.

RFT/OTD

You will gain knowledge of company targets for On Time Delivery (OTD) and Right First Time (RFT) for project activities. Collaborate with the team to achieve these targets while developing proficiencies in Continuous Improvement and LEAN processes.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements and qualifications:

Essential

Bachelor's degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering, with ongoing or completed Master's degree. Equivalent experience in the field of Chemical or Mechanical Engineering will also be considered.

Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools.

Ability and curiosity about teamwork.

Desirable

Study abroad experience (ERASMUS+ or similar).

Understanding of the pharmaceutical/food industry.

Problem-solving skills.
