Pediatric Clinical Speech Pathologist - Outpatient
Join the Cleveland Clinic team, where you will work alongside passionate and dedicated caregivers, receive endless support and appreciation, and build a rewarding career with one of the most respected healthcare organizations in the world. **A caregiver in this position works 2 days/week (ideally Thursday and Friday) 8am - 6:30pm plus weekend Inpatient rotation.** A caregiver who excels in this role, will: + Perform diagnostic speech pathology test procedures and evaluates communication and swallowing function of patients. + Interpret and reports test results to facilitate medical diagnosis. + Provide counseling and education about communication and the diagnosis to patients and their families. + Determine therapeutic plan, including need for therapy, frequency of treatment, focus for intervention, prognosis and duration of therapy. + Select assistive speech devices to improve patient's communication. + Perform re-evaluation to determine progress after therapy. + Provide observations about hearing and other behavior to help determine need for other services. + Maintain records of all services. + Communicate results and recommendations for improving communicative function to referral sources and outside agencies such schools and employers. + Maintains speech pathology equipment and materials. + Assist with planning, budget, service or project development, fee setting, purchase of new equipment or materials. Minimum qualifications for the ideal caregiver include: + Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology. + Must hold or be eligible for a Speech-Language Pathology License (SP) from the State Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology. + Must hold (SP) license in current state upon start date. + Holds Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA). + Completed nine month Clinical Fellowship Year.
