Pediatric Inpatient Social Worker
Inpatient Pediatric Psychiatric Unit
Provides assessment, counseling, information and referral, advocacy services, and other resource assistance to patients directly or through consultation.
Responsibilities
* Completes comprehensive, trauma-informed psychosocial assessments with patients and families.
* Provides supportive counseling to individuals and families to assist with coping, management of stressors and disease management.
* Coordinates community resources to address/meet identified needs.
* Assists families in adapting to difficult and complicated dispositions involving complex/catastrophic care needs, multiple agencies/providers and linkage to resources outside the community.
* Provides consultation, assessment, referral and coordination in cases of suspected child abuse or neglect, or other forms of family violence.
* Documents objective, concise and pertinent clinical data in the medical record.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) required.
* Social work experience in a hospital/ambulatory setting, community mental health, or crisis work preferred.
* Knowledge of trauma-informed care preferred.
* Strong organizational skills, verbal and written communications skills.
* Sound decision making and judgment.
* Time management skills.
* Negotiation skills.
* Proven ability to deal with conflict resolution.
* Comfortable with basic computer skills.
