Inova Pediatric Multispecialty Services is looking for a dedicated Pediatric Multispecialty Navigator to join the team. .This role will be full-time, day shift Monday- Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00pm.

The Pediatric Multispecialty Navigator acts as a liaison, advocate, and point of contact for parents and caregivers of pediatric patients by helping them access the best healthcare outcomes and critical resources. In addition to providing emotional support to parents and caregivers, this position guides the family through the health system from diagnosis, testing, treatment, and follow-up care including social work, caretaker education and transportation to assist patients with navigating the continuum of care. May assist patients and families with resolving financial, psychosocial, functional, and administrative issues by advising of options and referring to appropriate resources. Eliminates barriers for parent’s or caregiver’s access to the child’s providers and facilitates continuity of care/care coordination. Acts as advisor/educator by providing emotional support, counseling, clinical education, resources, and expert guidance to parents and caregivers to promote their ability to understand and meaningfully participate in the healthcare process for their child including advocating for options and personal decision-making in the care plan. Provides ongoing collaboration with specialty areas including, but not limited to oncology, surgery, allergy, diabetes educators, and social work in the care of one pediatric patient. This position builds working relationships with parents and caregivers, healthcare providers, and community resources to maximize patient outcomes and identify/resolve barriers to the plan of care. Consistently seeks to improve healthcare experience and positive patient outcomes.

Requirements
Certification - Basic Life Support Upon Start; Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES)
Licensure - RN license and be eligible to practice in VA
Experience - 3 years of progressive clinical experience. Preferred experience with pediatric patients with Type 1 Diabetes. Experience with diabetes technology, including continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) and insulin pumps.
Education - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing .
