University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville is accepting applications for a Pediatric Nephrologist to join the division of Nephrology in the Department of Pediatrics at the Assistant/Associate/Professor level on the multi-mission track. Rank and Tenure status will commensurate with qualifications.
The division provides a complete range of inpatient and outpatient pediatric nephrology services, including management of patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, inpatient and outpatient plasmapheresis services, and renal replacement therapy (continuous renal replacement therapy, peritoneal dialysis, and hemodialysis - with and without ECMO).
Our team currently consists of two faculty members, an advanced practice registered nurse, and dedicated Nephrology ancillary support staff. The Division of Pediatric Nephrology works in close collaboration with the University of Florida Division of Pediatric Rheumatology, the Division of Pediatric Urology at Nemours Children’s Specialty Services, Wolfson Children’s Hospital, and the pediatric renal transplant program at UF Health Gainesville.
The candidate will be responsible for providing coordinated medical care for newborns, children and adolescents with complex nephrology disorders in an outpatient Pediatric Multispecialty Center, inpatient admissions and consultations, day-Hospital management including chronic hemo & peritoneal dialysis unit, and shared night and weekend call. Education responsibilities include: teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as participating in the development of the pediatric nephrology program. Participation in monthly department faculty meetings, administrative functions and institutional committees as requested.
Inpatient services are provided at Wolfson Children’s Hospital, a 281 bed full-service tertiary hospital for children in the region, located in downtown Jacksonville.
The UF Health Kidney Transplant Program in Gainesville, Florida has more than five decades of experience in performing kidney transplants and performed the first kidney transplant in the state of Florida in 1966. Today, UF Health performs solitary kidney and combined kidney and pancreas, liver, heart, or lung transplants.

Expected Salary:Commensurate with education and experience, based on AAMC salary guidelines for similar academic practices
Minimum Requirements:Applicants should possess a MD/DO degree, be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Florida and for credentialing at area hospitals, be board-certified in Pediatrics, and be board-eligible/board-certified in pediatric nephrology.
