Pediatric Oncology Nurse II: Hematology, Infectious Disease, and Eye/Ent Clinics

As a flex Pediatric Oncology Nurse in our Hematology, Infectious Disease, and Eye/Ent Clinics, you’ll be a part of several comprehensive teams of specialists who serve the patients of St. Jude through expert care. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to care for patients in the Hematology clinic with sickle cell disease and other non-malignant hematological disorders, and patients diagnosed with HIV/AIDS or had In Utero exposure in the infectious disease clinic. Acting as a patient/family advocate you will serve as a resource in the management and treatment of both the acute and chronic aspects of their disease, and assist with coordinating interdisciplinary patient care activities for the management of patients throughout their continuum of care with other members of the Health Care Team at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Also, you'll be responsible and accountable for high-quality patient care through the implementation of the nursing process including assessment of patient needs (physical, psychosocial, educational), design of a collaborative plan of care, implementation of the plan with appropriate delegation of tasks, coordination of team effort, and evaluation of patient progress towards outcomes. In the Eye/Ent clinic role, under the supervision of a physician, you'll record patient data, assist with patient examinations, administer diagnostic tests, record visual acuity, maintain ophthalmic equipment and instruments, administer eye medications, and perform other task necessary to assist physician and clinic staff and ensure patient flow. Shift Full time (40 hours/week) 4 ten-hour shifts per week with a rotating off day. Minimum Education and/or Training: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. RN required. BSN preferred. Minimum Experience: Completion of eighteen (18) months of St. Jude RN experience and documented core competencies and skill sets with CAP peer review; OR five (5) years of internal St. Jude PON experience; OR ten (10) years of total RN experience Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by Law: (LC: RN-TN) Must possess a current Tennessee State Board of Nursing license if primary residence is Tennessee or a Nurse Licensure non-Compact state. (LC: RN-ARK or RN-MISS) Must possess a current State Board of Nursing license in the state of primary residence if the state is a Nurse Licensure Compact state. Compensation In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
