Initiative-Recognizing and doing what needs to be done before I am asked to do it.   Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for the medical care of children from birth through adolescence to aid in mental and physical growth and development: examines patients to determine presence of disease and to establish preventive health practices; determines nature and extent of disease or injury; prescribes and administers medications and immunizations; and performs a variety of medical duties.   Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Provides comprehensive pediatric primary care to a panel of patients. Provide emergency screening and stabilization of acute patients. Provide care, as back up, for the pediatric patients of other physicians. Collaborate with nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, health educators and other health care providers in the provision of care.   Supervise Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant when needed. Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary.  Serve as a facilitator between patients and consultants when necessary. Participate in the 24 hour on-call system. Attend in-service and administrative meetings pertinent to the position; provide in-service for other medical staff. Train residents, medical students and other health care professionals. Follow guidelines for provider productivity as established for Variety Care Providers in Performance measures. Provide Quality Care to patients. Score high on Patient Satisfaction Survey.  Participate in quality improvement activities. Provide accurate and timely documentation in patient charts within the same day of intervention.  Complete charts according to Variety Care policies. Adhere to Confidentiality Policies and Procedures / HIPAA Regulations. Provides Telehealth services from remote locations connected to a reliable internet resource including a provider’s home when necessary. Perform other duties as assigned.   Requirements, Special Skills or Knowledge: Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy from an accredited university, licensed in Oklahoma prior to start date. Graduate of an accredited Pediatric Residency Program. Board-certified with the American Board of Pediatrics, or board-eligible with board certification required within 2 years after completion of residency. Outstanding “bedside manners”: patient-centric with empathy, excellent active listening and communication skills, engaging and efficient. Outstanding clinical capabilities and judgment. Focused on collaborative team-based care. Responsive and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high accountability environment. Proficient in EHR systems. Excellent judgment and ability to prioritize resources where they will be most useful. Comfortable receiving and providing constructive feedback. Engaged in learning and continuous quality improvement. Outstanding written and verbal communications skills with a culturally diverse patient and staff population. Passionate about providing high quality primary health care to low-income, under-served residents and those who lack access to health care.     Preferred Requirements, Special Skills or Knowledge: Bilingual (English/Spanish).
      ADA Requirements:    Must be able to lift 25 pounds. Able to assist patients on and off an exam table when necessary. Must have excellent concentration ability.
