NYU Silver School of Social Work JOB OPPORTUNITY: Peer Navigator Location : 1 Washington Square North, NY, NY 10003 Date of Posting : February 27, 2025 Contact : Samantha Serrano (ss13443@nyu.edu) Annual Salary : $65,000-$69,000 Part-Time Position : 21 hours/week Duration : 1 year with the possibility of extension, position is dependent on grant funding In-Person Position (Not Hybrid) Project title: Community-based behavioral intervention to increase COVID-19 and influenza vaccination for African American/Black and Latino persons: An optimization randomized controlled trial Duties and Responsibilities - Conduct high-quality intervention sessions and activities with participants (navigation, health education) - Conduct quantitative assessments with participants, as needed - Recruit participants as neeeded - Perform other related activities as required Required Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities ● Master’s degree in social work, public health, psychology, nursing, or other social/behavioral science or BA/BS degree and at least 5 years of experience in behavioral research ● Knowledgeable about COVID-19 and flu vaccinations and comfortable leading discussions about the benefits of vaccinations with a diverse study population ● Experience with REDCap ● Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods ● Excellent organizational skills ● Excellent computer and technical skills and the ability to learn new computer programs/applications ● Commitment to social justice and racial and socioeconomic equity ● Interest in COVID-19 vaccination issues ● Interest in intervention optimization and the multiphase optimization strategy (MOST) ● High level of attention to detail, flexibility, ability to work on a team, and punctuality ● Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed ● Bilingual in English and Spanish Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills ● Experience with intervention research and/or conducting social/behavioral interventions ● Expertise in motivational interviewing theory and techniques ● Health education experience To apply, please provide a Resume and Cover Letter.
