Inova Behavioral Health Center for Recovery Fairfax is looking for a dedicated Peer Recovery Specialist to join the Partial Hospitalization Program team. This role will be full-time night shift from Monday – Friday, (8 hours/ 5 days, flexible hours between 9 a.m. – midnight).

Provides non-clinical services which support the screening and follow up process to establish recovery for patients with high-risk alcohol or drug dependency and/or mental health needs. Provides peer support by engaging and encouraging patients who are seeking treatment for addictions and/or mental health. Offers motivational support to educate and encourage the use of prevention and intervention methods for emerging substance abuse risks in patients who may not yet require treatment. Participates as an interdisciplinary team member to assist in completing referrals to treatment services and developing service plans which promote successful transition to treatment services.Additional Requirements:

General: The role of the CPRS reflects a collaborative and strength-based approach, with the primary goal being to assist individuals and family members in achieving sustained recovery from the effects of substance use and/or mental health issues. Services provided by the CPRS are a critical component of services that will substantially improve an individual’s ability to sustain recovery and wellness. Education: High School or GED Experience: None Certification: - Basic Life Support Within 3 months Crisis Prevention Institute Within 6 Months Licensure: Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services – Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (DBHDS-CPRS) upon start
