$750 sign on bonus (Pro-rated PT) Exciting opportunity to join our multidisciplinary team as a full or part time Peer Specialist! Position is for the brand new six-bed Crisis Residence located at 12th Street Troy. This facility offers a safe place for the stabilization of psychiatric symptoms and a range of person-centered trauma informed services to support participants. At this short-term stay facility, participants may stay for up to 28 days as they prepare to transition back to the community. You will make significant impact on advancing this comprehensive specialty care residence, and provide meaningful support to the team! Responsibilities:   Provide support services to consumers. Educate clients on community resources. Help participants connect to program services. Accompany consumers to appointments. Assist with health literacy. Communicate effective coping strategies based on personal experience. Maintain confidentiality. Promote a culture of inclusion and belonging. Requirements: High School or GED required. Must have lived experience with homelessness, mental illness, substance use, or living with HIV/AIDS. Good verbal and written communication skills; basic computer skills required. Must have access to reliable transportation and a valid NYS driver's license.
