Peer Support Specialist
Purpose: Our Peer Support Specialist for the Longmont Behavioral Health Home supports clients that are dealing with behavioral health challenges. Your contribution to our client's treatment will support and encourage them, with your shared lived experiences, as their ally, in their efforts to become healthier. Your support will consist of meeting with clients, providing coaching and education around navigating the systems treating their physical and behavioral health needs. You will provide a safe space to process their emotional lives. You'll be a member of a collaborative integrated healthcare team providing input around the challenges and successes of your clients. You will manage boundaries and provide expertise through your personal experiences that will be valuable to our clients. Job Summary: You will be one point of contact on the BHH team and serve as a support system to clients needing additional psychoeducation and emotional support.
