Peer Support Specialist (PATH)

Description:

Position Purpose: As a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) at Mercy Care Atlanta, you will empower individuals experiencing mental health challenges by facilitating structured peer support activities. You'll foster recovery, socialization, self-advocacy, and wellness, helping consumers live as independently as possible.
 

What You Will Do:

Lead day-to-day operations of Peer Support Services Groups, offering activities that encourage self-directed recovery and hope.

Help consumers develop personal recovery goals and relapse prevention plans.

Assist the Behavioral Health Coordinator in maintaining a safe, structured recovery environment.

Guide individuals in exploring strengths, managing illness, and developing community living skills.
 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required.

Certified as a Georgia Peer Specialist or CARES Specialist (or eligibility within 6 months).

Minimum one year of experience in day services programs, group facilitation, and working with underserved individuals.

Must be in recovery from Mental Illness or Dual Diagnosis for at least one year prior to hire.

Valid Georgia Driver’s License may be required.
