JOB SUMMARY

Peer Trainers provide coordination and training to clients and authorized representatives seeking access to the Consumer Directed Attendant Support Services (CDASS) program.

This position is a part-time position and the employee must be able to work 15-25 hours each week as well as check emails daily.


JOB DUTIES

Schedule training for Members or Authorized Representatives (AR) within established requirements or expectations as assigned by the Training Coordinator. Complete training for Member/ARs via phone, in-person, or group training formats as assigned Check CDCO email 1x daily for job-related information and new training assignments Communicate as necessary with other team members including Training Coordinators and admin staff to ensure training has been completed timely and appropriately. Assist Member or AR with completion of training curriculum documents for accuracy and completion while communicating with Members or Authorized Representatives with any needed adjustments and/or submission on to case manager for final approval. Attend educational meetings, training sessions, and other meetings as needed or required by program. Attend quarterly all-staff meetings at the CDCO office either by phone or in person. Maintain confidentiality regarding all communication/information related to Members, Authorized Representatives, Attendants, and all business relations. Remain neutral regarding all FMS provider choices and not participate in activities related to an FMS provider that may result in or leave the impression that one FMS provider is favored over another FMS provider. Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications and Experience:

Active status as a client and or Authorized Representative on the CDASS program for a minimum of 6 months required. Knowledge of people with disabilities and the elderly is preferred. Regular computer use is required for fulfilling job duties. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Employees must provide their own reliable internet if working a remote/hybrid position

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of Members, Authorized Representatives, or Case Managers.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


The incumbent typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone, and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. Incumbents may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday. The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to 20 pounds.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
