Pension Specialist II (hybrid/Norwalk, CT)

What the day will look like As a Pension Administration Specialist II, you will provide defined benefit calculation and consulting services directly to clients. You will make an impact in others’ lives by working with our client’s employees to help them understand their pension plans and to meet their retirement goals. Daily Responsibilities: + Perform first and second checks of benefit calculations. + Perform manual intervention, including manual calculations, data cleanup, and communication statement updates, as needed to ensure the accuracy of calculations. + Ensure accuracy and quality of system-generated calculations and communication statements by applying Defined Benefit concepts and specific client knowledge to individual calculations. + Monitor calculation status for the team. + Act as a resource for the team (and consults with PM as necessary) on topics such as: age 70½ minimum distribution rules, Schedule SSA (and other governmental) filings, pay limits, post-65 accrual rules, suspension of benefits rules, taxation of benefits, QPSA rules, and QJSA rules + Monitor “on hold” calculations to ensure timely follow-up and completion. + Provide accurate consulting to participants on pension-related issues, such as plan provisions, calculation questions, payment elections, and administrative processes. + Provides timely follow-up on voicemails, calculations, and other issues. Skills and experience that will lead to success + Undergraduate degree or equivalent years of industry experience. + Proficient understanding of Defined Benefit principles and legislation. + Thorough understanding of clients’ pension plan provisions, data, and DBCalc/PenProPlus system + Strong command of DBCalc tools (DBCalc, DBAdmin, YPR and CalcsLog) PenProPlus tools (PenProPlus, Workflow, CRTS and Employee Self-Service). + Understands and uses Excel and Access tools. + Bilingual language skills- a plus, but not required.
