Role Description

The People Business Partner will deliver Kantar’s global, divisional / functional people agenda while working closely with colleagues globally and locally within our Centres of Excellence (CoE) and our People Operations teams. You will be part of a business partnering team delivering people strategies, solutions and processes to your client groups in Japan. The role will collaborate closely with other PBPs across APAC, be an example of what excellent looks like in terms of the employee experience and commercial excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Partner, advise and mentor leadership and management teams in Japan to accelerate the delivery of business agenda through an innovative, strategic and fit for purpose people agenda and solutionsPartner the Chief People Officer and other Business Partners to develop the people strategy and implementation with your relevant client groupsProvide business partnership to support organisational changes and business transformations, bringing in expertise as required from your network across the broader People Team and CoEs to provide appropriate solutions and applying effective organisational change mechanismsBring a strategic lens and insight from prior experiences / leading practice and adopt a ‘business leader’ approach when driving transformations across the businessEngage with business leaders and the wider People Team to understand challenges and areas for opportunities and translate these into relevant people initiativesEstablish collaborative and supporting working partnerships with the CoEs and People Operations to serve as a strategic consultant to your business leaders on a range of people issues and demonstrating expert advice where requiredDelivery of talent management initiatives that are aligned with global Kantar strategy to build and maintain a strong talent pipeline while attracting, identifying and assessing talent and development opportunities to retain the right talentProvide advice and direction on reward philosophy to help craft business decisions, implement and embed total reward design.Champion diversity and drive portfolios of work that supports the business to build an inclusive environment throughout the employee journey, policies and practices and support our DEI strategyPartner with business leaders to develop performance, succession and career management plans by assessing the efficiency of career paths, aligning employee capabilities to the division / function’s overall strategic directionImprove employee experience to increase engagement within the workplace through using data from employee listening programmes, leaver surveys, other formal and informal sourcesLead and advise on sophisticated employee relations activities, demonstrating sound judgement, a knowledge of market legislation and commercial awarenessDevelop and mentor others within the People Team to help build their capability in line with the business needs and the employees' aspirations

Commercially minded gained through working with commercial organisations in a People Business Partnering capacityExperience of working in a global, matrixed environmentBuild strong partnership and trust with business leaders, managers, CoEs, People Operations to demonstrate strategic insightsStrong employees experience ethos with people at the heart of the business agendaUnderstanding of how to address employee relations issues and knowledge of local market legislationExcellent interpersonal communication with the ability to positively influence and mentor business leaders at all levelsWork with senior business leads to set the direction for the people plan, including anticipating business trends and aligning business strategies with people strategiesBe curious, challenge and question, represent the employee's voice and demonstrate your expertise during discussionsLead difficult conversations with integrity and humilityDriving transformation and change positively within a matrixed organisationCritical problem solver who uses data driven insights and decision making to confidently resolve large, complicated issues and communicate decisions efficiently
