People & Organization Advisory Leader

We are seeking a People & Organization Leader to help grow our People & Organizations part of the practice that specializes in organizational assessments, developing target operating models, change management and team effectiveness. You could be based in one of our offices in New York, Washington DC or Boston. You will be part of the Management Consulting leadership team helping to effectively grow a small, yet dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in two or more of the following technical areas: operating model & organization development; culture & organizational change; team effectiveness & collaboration; and leadership & capability. **The Opportunity** · Contributes to the growth of the People & Organizations discipline by building technical and specialist skills through development programs and recruitment support. · Leads the development of new methodologies, tools, thought leadership papers, and the People & Organizations skills network. · Contributes to the group’s growth by proactively seeking business development opportunities, building new and expanding existing client portfolio. · Manages and monitors project commercials ensuring each project delivers within scope, and to agreed commercial metrics. · Establishes most senior client relationships, deriving joint understanding of goals, and creating tailored communications plans. · Draws on relevant theories and evidence-based practice to lead the design & delivery of organizational diagnostics workshops. · Provides experienced facilitation support to helps leads client workshops · Draws on best practice people and change diagnostic and improvement tools and theories to deliver on two or more of the following technical areas (team effectiveness & collaboration, leadership & capability, culture & organizational change, operating model & organization development). · Reviews reports and advises clients’ organizational behavior and cultural landscape. · Applies knowledge of organizational change theories and practices to make recommendations to client challenges. · Leads team of consultants in the development and delivery of end-end transformational programs. · Provides tangible leadership for project teams including setting client goals, progress, and direction. · Leads team of consultants in the development and delivery of end-end projects and programs. · Work internally within Arup and externally across both the public and private sector client organizations. · Manages team performance and growth, ensuring performance objectives are set and expectations are clear. · Provides support and development opportunities through assignment of work and stretching tasks, ensuring a culture of feedback and growth across the team. · Acts as a role model for junior/senior consultants, creating a climate of trust, openness and a culture of recognition. · Work in a small, entrepreneurial environment juggling various tasks from business development to client management to team leadership to staff mentorship and supervision. You will have the opportunity to do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve. **Is this role right for you?** · 15+ years of experience in a consulting environment · Degree and/or extensive experience in management consulting (Organizational strategies; target operating model development; and People & Change Management) · Master’s degree in the behavioral or management sciences field, e.g., occupational psychology, organizational behavior, organizational design (desired) · Project management and delivery skills, including financial and risk management. · Strong commercial acumen, including leading and developing client proposals. · Chartered Member with a relevant institute such as Management Consulting, Human Factors & Ergonomics; Society of Industrial & Organizational Psychology (or equivalent); Change Management Professional; Project Management Institute. Preferred Qualifications: · Experience in one or more of the following markets: Aviation, Rail, Highways, Healthcare, State & Local Government, Energy, Water. · Expert facilitator, and collaborator manager comfortable working with groups including senior management cohorts. Options for alternative schedules and the ability to work outside of the office for a portion of your workweek are available **New York Hiring** **Range** - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in New York is $173,000 to $230,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary.
