What We Are Looking For...The People Partnering team at River Island support the business functions to develop robust people plans to build the performance and capabilities within their teams in order to deliver the business plans.
 
The People Partner is responsible for enabling and driving the delivery of People Team initiatives, working closely with their business area(s) to understand challenges and opportunities in order to design and implement the appropriate solutions, and create best employee experience. Their success depends on effective and trusted relationships, working collaboratively across both the People Team and broader business.
 
Key Accountabilities:\n\nThrough good commercial acumen, develop and maintain a good understanding of the business model, its priorities and challenges so as to plan people activity that aligns to delivering best business outcomes\nBuild and nurture strong relationships with the leadership team, identifying and focusing on people activity and solutions that best align to and enable delivery of the business strategy and priorities\nDevelop and maintain trusted relationships with senior leaders, providing constructive challenge and acting as a sounding board, advisor and coach\nCoach leaders to build and effectively manage high performing teams with diversity of skills and experience, and a mix of potential and expertise to effectively deliver team goals\nDrive a performance-led culture, supporting leaders to clearly articulate the business priorities to all Islanders and align them to the key focuses, with clarity of expected performance standards, and a consistent performance assessment process\nProvide thought leadership and develop pragmatic solutions on complex people issues related to employee relations, organisational design and effectiveness and strategic workforce planning\nExecute and implement organisational change and development solutions that positively impacts business performance \nEnable the delivery of talent management processes\nThrough deep understanding of the business challenges together with broad understanding of People best practises, collaborate with the COEs to create and deliver key people activity in the operational people calendar\nAnalyse and share data insights, recommending actions addressing challenges or opportunities, partnering with your function and COEs to put them in place\nLead and take ownership for the delivery of River Island-wide People Team projects\nThrough role modelling RI values and integrity, contribute to creating a workplace with wellbeing and inclusion at its core, proactively identifying and building people solutions that support improvements in these areas\nAct as a mentor to the People Advisors, providing guidance to help them grow their skills and knowledge as the future People Partners\nTake a proactive approach to professional development for yourself and others, using internal and external networks and resources to advance and share knowledge\nKey Experience Required:\nEither demonstrable experience as a People Partner or highly experienced People Advisor applying strategic thinking across multiple people-team disciplines, including people operations, employee relations, reward, development, and talent;\nOR experience at manager level in any people-related discipline with a track record of collaboration across multiple people disciplines and working closely with People Partnering\nCIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent experience\nExperience in building trusted relationships with leadership teams and coaching for high performance\nJob Role Competencies:\nA passion for People innovation and best practice\nStrong commercial acumen, focus on business value creation\nHighly organised with good prioritisation skills\nA genuine passion for employee experience\nStrong diagnostic skills and deep curiosity to understand people and situations\nExcellent listening and questioning skills\nExcellent judgement and balanced approach to decision-making\nStrong analytical skills, able to balance both qualitative and quantitative\nNatural coaching style\nExperience in building meaningful, impactful relationships with teams and stakeholders \nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nAble to read an audience and flex your style and approach to influence and gain buy-in\nStrong interpersonal and collaboration skills, emotional intelligence and self-management\nStrong attention to detail, while also linking back to the bigger picture \nComfortable with ambiguity, fluid situations and changing deadlines \nAble to work calmly and effectively in the face of pressure or setbacks \nStrong integrity and ethical approach\n
