Per Diem Direct Support Professionals (DSP) – Valhalla, NY

YAI is excited to open additional Per Diem Direct Support Professional (DSP) positions for our newest and growing residential program in Valhalla, NY.   This program is home to several young adults who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).  These individuals hold the same aspirations as any young adult - to live independently, have meaningful relationships with friends and family, participate in community and social activities, have fulfilling careers, and pursue their own personal dreams.  We are looking for compassionate and energetic people to join Valhalla’s team of dynamic DSPs who every day choose to make a difference by partnering with the people we support so they can lead fulfilling lives.

As a Per Diem Direct Support Professional (DSP), you have the flexibility to create your own work schedule. Using a mobile scheduling app, you can select shifts that align with your availability. This position is ideal for individuals seeking a second job, exploring a new career path, balancing school and academic responsibilities, or managing scheduling constraints due to personal or family obligations. The option to transition to part-time or full-time employment can be explored.

At YAI, Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are integral in enhancing the lives of the individuals we support. DSPs promote health and well-being, foster independence, provide counseling and guidance, assist with daily living activities and self-care, encourage community inclusion, and maintain documentation to track progress.

All job-specific knowledge, strategies, and skills will be provided in YAI's “best-in-class” training program. After completing an initial Pre-Service class, hands-on training will begin in the Valhalla residence. This hands-on experience will enhance your understanding while allowing you to build meaningful relationships with your team members and the people we support.

We encourage experienced professionals to apply; however, enthusiastic and passionate candidates interested in a new career path will also be strongly considered.
