Per Diem Lactation Consultant
*Description* Per Diem Lactation Consultant - Southern O/B We areseekingan experienced and compassionate lactation consultant to provide breastfeeding support forbirthingpeople and their babies throughout the prenatal and postpartum period. The lactation consultant will see patients in our obstetric offices for prenatal and postpartum visits in collaboration with our breastfeeding medicine clinicians. This position will be a per diem lactation consultant role withan anticipatedwork schedule of two days a week in the office. Dutiesand Responsibilities * Help birthing people prepare for breastfeeding during the prenatal period through breastfeeding education office visits and classes. * Provide breastfeeding support office visits during the postpartum period to patients and their newborns. * Educate and inform expecting parents on newborn feeding options and techniques. * Assistwith creating and following a postpartum breastfeeding plan. * Collaborate with our breastfeeding medicine clinicians during lactation office visits. * Provide support to Nuvance Health staffregardingbreastfeeding questions via our on-call lactation line. * Makeappropriate referralsto community resources and other professionals. Requirements and Qualifications * Active registered nurse license * Active internationalboard-certifiedlactation consultant (IBCLC) certification * Must be eligible to be credentialed with Medicaid/Medicare * Basic computer literacy * Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills * Compassionate and caring attitude * Able to work effectively with clients and other professionals. * Reliable and on-time for work Preferred Skills * Experience as a lactation consultant * Neonatal CPR training PHYSICAL AND MENTAL FACTORS Physical: Sitting, standing, and walking forlong periodsof time. Mental: Moderate stress Salary: $32.64 - $65.01 per hour,relativeto experience.
