Per Diem Ophthalmic Assistant
**Responsibilities** The Ophthalmic Assistant is responsible for providing direct patient care to patients seen in the Ophthalmology department. He or she will ensure the safety and comfort of patient and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards. **Job Title: Per Diem Ophthalmic Assistant** **Location: Bay Area Bld. B** **Department:** **Optometry** **Job Type: Per Diem** **Salary Range: $20.99 – $21.01 (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)** **Qualifications** **Education** Required: High School Diploma or GED Preferred: N/A **Experience** Required: At least 1 year previous work experience under an Ophthalmologist/Optometrist or Graduate of an approved vision technology school. Or CMA who has completed the KSC OAI course. Preferred: 2 years of previous work experience under an ophthalmologist/optometrist. **License(s)** Required: Those hired before 2012 are grandfathered and do not require certification Preferred: Certified as COA, CPO or obtain within 1 yr of employment **Special Skills** Required: Able to use NCT, tono-pen, confrontation visual fields, ocular motility exam, lensometry, keratometry, Stereo testing, color testing,OCT, pachymetry, and Humphrey VF, glare test (BAT), evaluate pupils, tonopen, and knowledge, dosage, and administration of ophthalmology drops. Preferred: Able to scribe, Immersion IOL, slit lamp operation, corneal topography, Contact lenses, Immersion, manual refraction, A-scans, applaination, tonometry, Basic SL exam, manual keratometry, topography. **Other** Required: Current BLS Preferred: Windows bases computer skills **Working Environment:** Medical Clinic **About Us** Start your career journey and become a part of a community of renowned Healthcare professionals.
