78495BRJob Posting Title:Per diem - SonographerDepartment:RadiologyAutoReqId:78495BRStatus:Part-TimeStandard Hours per Week:1 Job Posting Category:Allied Health and TechnicalJob Posting Description:The per diem Sonographer is responsible for the following: + Performs routine ultrasound examinations as prescribed by a physician. + Reviews and evaluates requisitions for ultrasound imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for routine examinations. + Selects appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy. + Assesses patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develops plan for adjusting to patients' specific needs. + Follows QC/Data Integrity Workflow process. + Practices High Reliability Communication techniques. + Responds to the uniqueness and clinical condition of the patient. + Creates a supportive environment for the patient and the family. + Promotes a positive work environment in compliance with ETU. + Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions. + Assists senior technologists in organizing and maintaining daily operations of section. + Provides instruction on pediatric ultrasound procedures and techniques to residents, fellows, and students as requested. + Participates in departmental and hospital meetings. + Completes all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner + Complies with ETU. + Practices BCH 6 Core Values: excellence, innovation, communication, respect, teamwork and accountability. + Furthers professional education and maintains knowledge of current regulations and standards, policies and procedures.
