Per Diem Employee – An employee who is available to work as needed for coverage above and beyond the full time staff members in times of need for optimal patient care.  Availability requirements are established by hospital necessity and shifts may vary, including day, swing, overnight, weekend, and holidays.

This position offers the opportunity for growth within our patient care and emergency/specialty services, with the flexibility of being able to choose which available shifts work with your schedule. 

About You:

The ability to prioritize and adapt to a fast paced, fluid environment. Skilled in phlebotomy and IV catheter placement in canine and feline patients that are stable or compromisedPossess a good overall knowledge of disease processes, medical math, stable anesthesia and pharmacologyWork at least one shift per 90 day periodHave excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate collaboratively. 

Minimum Qualifications 

3-4 years experience as a veterinary assistant/technician in a progressive general practice and/or 2 years in a specialty practiceCA RVT or Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) is required.
