What you will do:

Provide yoga instruction to patients hospitalized for mental illness. The goal of incorporating yoga is to provide patients with specialized recreational services meant to encourage well-being and improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Plan weekly sessions tailored to the needs of patients. Guide and teach patients the basic movements of yoga and the ways that it can create mental clarity and calmness, increases body awareness, relieves chronic stress patterns, relaxes the mind, centers attention, and sharpens concentration. Facilitate sessions in a group setting on 3 separate units including adult psychiatry, geropsychiatry and dual-diagnosis (MICA) unit. Provide instruction, education and take away skills on ways to use yoga practice in one’s healing journey.  Yoga mats provided. Any additional equipment for use by patients must be approved by unit staff.  Colleague will have a sufficient understanding of unit safety protocols and incorporate them into their activities to avoid safety events on the unit Colleague will regularly track patient attendance in yoga sessions  

What you will need:

Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Human Services preferred.

Yoga Instruction Certification: RYT or CYT required.

Must be trained to lead a class.

Pay: $86.25

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
