Performance Analyst

Manulife is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Performance Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for responding to investment-related inquiries, providing analytical data, and investment fund reporting. You will conduct research and data analytics to support the management of the investment platform and contribute to improved business outcomes through information-enabled decision-making.

Essential Responsibilities:

Individual Responsibilities:

Support Sales:Analyze global fund performance and attributions to support sales.Respond to inquiries and provide strategic positioning points regarding product investment platforms and competitor investment strategies.Explain complex investment and financial concepts in an easily digestible manner.Research and Analysis:Perform research and analysis on investments, product features, and industry trends.Conduct data analytics to support investment platform management, investment marketing materials, and business intelligence.Interface with internal teams to manage inquiries related to investment fund information.Execute process improvement initiatives across fund information and reporting activities.Fund Information Support:Support internal teams who use fund information with subject matter expertise.

Job Requirements:

Experience and Education:3-5 years of relevant investment experience.Bachelor's degree required with progress towards CFA and/or MBA.Skills and Competencies:Ability to understand advanced investment theories and articulate them in an understandable manner to non-investment professional clients.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Good technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Preference for candidates with experience using Morningstar Direct, FI360, RPAG, etc.Good understanding of SQL databases and familiarity with Power BI is preferred.Proficiency in Python is preferred.

Operational Decision-Making:Day-to-day operational decision-making authority.Managing projects and major deliverables.Decisions at this position are made using judgment based on skills and knowledge already developed.

Additional Responsibilities:

Private Markets Investment Analytics & Delivery:Support the Investment, Fund Valuation, Performance, and Client Reporting processes for Institutional Accounts globally.Take initiatives in creating and upgrading Power BI report templates to deliver meaningful insights to key stakeholders.Design and build centralized SQL/Access database for private markets data to automate the Power BI reports generation process.Maintain and deliver existing Power BI reports for private markets products.Engage in Sylvan performance module tests and prepare results.Assist in verification of GIPS data and compliance processes.Implement automation and data input processes for IRR calculation on Sylvan.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies/Education:

Education:University education with a background in Finance or Mathematics.CFA candidate or charter holder preferred.Technical Skills:Strong Excel spreadsheet and modeling capacity.Good understanding of SQL databases and familiarity with Power BI.Proficiency in Python is preferred.Industry Knowledge:Knowledge of private asset classes and fixed income performance measurement and attribution.Project Management:Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate work among internal and external departments.Communication and Collaboration:Strong planning, communication, collaboration, and conflict management skills.

Salary range is expected to be between

$57,000.00 CAD - $95,000.00 CAD
