Job Summary
The PI Coordinator i mplements the Quality Patient Safety Plan in accordance with the goals of the organization, and in accordance with federal and state laws and regulations and accreditation standards. The PI Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Performance Improvement initiatives of the organization by utilizing process flow and PI improvement concepts, methods and tools as well as maintaining and evaluating data through processing, analysis, trending and tracking under the Performance Excellence umbrella. Identifies opportunities for improvement and reports out at appropriate committees. The PI Coordinator t is responsible for the administration and functions of several quality reporting software programs and works with vendors to ensure the tool is meeting the hospital’s needs. Serves as the primary educator for these systems and is responsible for training staff and providing support as needed. The PI Coordinator’s role is to facilitate improvement teams and maximize effectiveness of these teams by supporting the leaders to ensure PI initiatives are successful . The PI Coordinator assists in the evaluation of the organization’s compliance with regulatory standards and assists with developing action plans to ensure compliance as needed. Collaborates and interacts with members of the Healthcare team including Nursing, Medical Staff, Quality Improvement, Medical Records, etc.
Core Duties:
+ Create and maintain systemwide scorecards. Scorecards are accurate and submitted timely to appropriate stakeholders. Able to utilize analytic tools to extract data and identify patterns and trends.
+ Supports Service Line Programs and acts as a liaison to help identify opportunities for improvement and ensuring that all TJC requirements are met.
+ Committee Chair for Service Line Program Workgroups.
+ Works with Quality team to ensure that TJC requirements are being met for all TJC surveys.
+ Provides PI consultation and serves as resource within the institution and assures that all PI activities are Customer driven; designed, measured, and evaluated appropriately; continuously improved; communicated to all levels in the organization; documented and reported; and consistent with hospital’s mission, vision, and other plans.
+ Skilled in the use of tools such as Root Cause Analysis, Failure, Mode, Effect, Analysis, problem solving methods.
+ Proactively conducts gap analyses as needed, including assisting with implementation and measurement of action plan.
+ Supports agenda development; preparation of reports and presentations.
+ Incorporates evidence-based practice into policy, procedure and practices.
+ Shares quality & PI initiatives, story boards, and other publications across the system.
+ Addresses educational needs of hospital staff related to PI.
+ Participates in the orientation of new SCH staff.
+ Provides appropriate feedback to stakeholders to understand requirements as well as identify and implement actions to improve.
+ Supports regulatory requirements and ensures data is completed timely in order to meet regulatory deadlines.
+ Has knowledge of the medical record and is able to extract information needed to review cases.
+ Data administrator for several data platforms and responsible for ensuring accuracy in those systems.

Minimum Qualifications:
+ Graduate of an accredited school; baccalaureate degree preferred.
+ Minimum 4 years performance improvement/quality experience in acute care setting .
Preferred Qualifications/Additional Skills:
+ National Certifications; i.e. CPHQ, Lean Six Sigma, CPPS
+ Project management Skills
+ Advanced clinical and critical thinking skills.
+ Excellent interpersonal, prioritization, and organizational skills
+ Experience with research, data collection, interpretation and presentation
+ Computer skills, including software systems, excel, word
+ Knowledge of the principles, theories, and tools of Quality Management & Improvement
