18 Acre site running a 24/7 Operation with 4 rotational crews.It has 2 Bottling, 2 Canning lines and 1 Kegging production line.There are 90+ SKUs with 16 different Beer/Liquid types, producing an average of 23 million cases per annum.We operate Guinness packaging facilities at Marshalls Road in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and Runcorn, in Northwest England, producing canned, bottled and kegged product for Ireland, UK and export markets. Significant investment is underway at both locations.Purpose of the Role
The Performance Improvement Lead (PIL) will be an integral part of a line team to help develop and coach cultural change and drive towards Zero Stops & Zero Waste. You will be a performance partner to Packaging Team Leader (PTL) with joint accountability for results of the line scorecard (Safety/Quality/Cost /Service) - especially c/o time, OEE losses, long and short stops and other forms of waste. You will implement & coach to ensure sustainable deployment of Manufacturing Excellence practices and lead at least 1 practice at line/hall level. You will provide performance data and drive continuous improvement activities eg into weekly Planned Preventative Maintenance Meeting, & Weekly Team Meeting.
Key Accountabilities
• Provide mentorship and support to PTL for effective and aligned implementation of Manufacturing Excellence.
• Actively develops, promotes and drives the implementation of Manufacturing Excellence tools and techniques across Lines to the agreed line plans.
• Closely monitors and reports performance and practice progress across designated lines.
• Ensure that any improvements implemented are standardised and sustained within operations teams.
• Analyses loss & waste validates data and provides clear strategy to prioritise improvements with Packaging Team Leader.
• Participate, lead, sponsor & coach ongoing prioritised improvement projects using the DMAIC methodology. (eg 5Why, FT-DMAIC, Yellow Belt etc)
• Coordinates and effectively delivers training and coaching of Manufacturing Excellence practices.
• Leads the Implementation Task Forces and line teams in their deployment of manufacturing excellence through their regular meetings and their communication of activities.
• Engage with the Daily & Weekly Operational Review meetings to provide expert analysis of performance improvement opportunities.
We would love to hear from you, if you have:
• Validated experience in a process environment with a proven record in leading people and/or small teams, projects and cross functional team working.
• NEBOSH qualification (or willing towards)
• Yellow and Green belt Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement Training
• A proven track record of utilising manufacturing excellence tools and techniques such as 5S, set up time reduction, Lean six sigma, Asset Care, problem-solving and, improvement techniques.
• Ability to interpret and analyse extensive data sources to identify loss and waste, cost saving opportunities and trends,
• Working knowledge of SAP.
