Diageo Australia employs approximately 420 people and operates in Australia with two production sites in Bundaberg and Huntingwood.
The Huntingwood Supply Site comprises 4 Packaging lines, a bulk spirit processing operation, Distribution Warehouse, and Innovation Team. Our iconic brands include Johnnie Walker, Guinness, Baileys, Tanqueray, Smirnoff, Bundaberg, Captain Morgan etc.
As a Performance Improvement Lead, you will support the operational teams to drive an integrated and structured approach to continuous improvement via embedding of Manufacturing Management System (MMS) principles across all departmental levels.
• You will work closely with these teams to improve site performance by facilitating improvement in performance, standards and capability through the MMS change journey and delivering breakthrough performance improvements.
What does this role look like for you?
Lead and advocate good governance around internal and external compliance (health & safety, quality, and environment).Work with tier 1 & 2 teams to deliver Operational excellence functional expertise across the area/site and support the operational team to resolve complex equipment problems.Lead Implementation Task Force (ITF) meetings and actively developing, promoting, and driving the sustainable implementation of MMS best practices and processes.Invest time effectively in supporting Improve the business by doing problem solving exercise, e.g. 5 why/RCPS. Also lead, contribute, and support Focused Improvement Projects to deliver cost savings to the organisation.Facilitate and coach MMS improvement projects and problem-solving techniques.Proactively lead performance analysis that drives improvement actions to address adverse performance trends and resolve systemic problems.Provide MMS subject matter expertise, offering coaching and guidance to Tiers 1 & 2.Work with Original Equipment Manufacturers and internal trainers or experts to support the development operational team functional skills.Support in delivery of outstanding performance in all aspects of the balanced scorecard (Safety, Quality, Environment, Asset Care, Delivery, Productivity, Cost and Morale).What will you bring to the table?
College degree level qualification or equivalent ideally in an engineering or science-related discipline or qualified through relevant experience. Formal Six sigma qualification desirableAt least 5 years supervisory experience in an operations environmentExperience Essential:
Ability to manage people performance, coaching and development of a multidisciplined team.Thorough working knowledge and demonstrated expertise in all areas of plant in area.Proactive structured problem-solving skills learnt through exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, TPM or Manufacturing ExcellenceExpert knowledge of Root Cause Problem Solving, 5S, Autonomous MaintenanceBasic financial awareness, understanding of business drivers, budgeting processes.Proficient in use of standard business (MS Office) and Diageo packages.Project Management skills & experienceTrack record of maintenance management, Asset Care strategy development and engagementDesirable:
Good working knowledge of Environmental legislation and standardsBest in class people management practices Commercial understanding of production & supply chain management.
