Performance Parts Buyer
Job Title: Performance Parts Buyer Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Performance Parts Buyer to join our team. This role involves utilizing SAP/Ariba to manage sourcing and support vehicle launches. The successful candidate will perform market tests, analyze responses, and award sourcing of Performance Parts. This position also supports business case development for new products and ensures optimal inventory levels by managing low stock parts, issuing purchase orders, and expediting parts delivery. Responsibilities + Perform market tests, analyze responses, and award sourcing of performance parts + Support business case development for new products + Review low stock parts and issue purchase orders to maintain optimal inventory levels + Follow up on past due purchase orders and track shipments + Review open backorders on a weekly basis and expedite parts delivery + Update lead times, minimum order quantities, and reorder points as needed + Follow all established Ford Purchasing Practices and Procedures + Collaborate with cross-functional team members to deliver successful products + Creatively seek and bring forward opportunities for process improvements + Write professional communications to suppliers and coworkers + Present opinions and ideas in meetings with varying levels of management + Function proficiently in MS Office software, particularly Excel Essential Skills + 3+ years of automotive purchasing experience + Negotiation experience with suppliers + Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and make recommendations + Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Excel + Excellent interpersonal skills and business acumen + Self-starter, fast learner, and problem solver Additional Skills & Qualifications + Aftermarket or performance parts experience + Experience with SAP or MMP + Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Business, or a related field + Examples of identifying cost savings + Strong communication skills + Team player with the ability to interface with many cross-functional teams + Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy + Highly organized and comfortable giving presentations to leadership + Flexible and able to adapt quickly to changes in direction Work Environment This position offers a hybrid work environment with 4 days a week onsite and 1 day work from home. The dress code is business casual, and work hours are from 8-5 (flexible within 9-3 for core business hours), Monday to Friday, totaling 40 hours per week.
