Transdev is operating in an increasingly complex and competitive environment with changing demographics, increased populations in our cities and changing needs from public transportation providers, across numerous jurisdictions in Australasia.
Transdev Australasia’s main objective is to be the Australian’s acknowledged passenger transport leader, operating across two different countries, a variety of modes of passenger transport, including, but not limited to, trains, light rail, ferries, buses in which we continuously have to balance innovation, profitability and partnerships with our stakeholders.

The finance function provides finance services to the Transdev Australasia group, from transactional, financial and management accounting expertise, through to financial decision support advice to the businesses to improve the outturn of contracts.

Framework & Boundaries – Main challenges and complexity elements

The finance function operates and maintains the financial policies and procedures, ensuring these are in accordance with current Accounting Standards and relevant regulatory framework. Finance also ensures these are operating effectively across the businesses.

This is a pivotal role in terms of centralisation and consolidation of financial information with a important influence component.

▪ Manage the timely financial analysis and reporting process for Transdev Australia & New Zealand,
▪ Support management and statutory reporting for Transdev Australasia in accordance with Group procedures and policies, accounting standards and regulations,
▪ Oversees budgeting and forecasting process for the consolidated group
▪ Manage budgeting and forecasting system (Anaplan)
▪ Elaborate and provide meaningful financial analysis for internal and external purposes as required
▪ Contribute time to time to internal projects aiming to streamline processes and gain in efficiencies
▪ Manage staff ensuring timely execution of tasks and high quality standards

Principal Accountabilities and major Activities

1. Financial Reporting

 ▪ Manage the Performance Management Model and reporting of financial and operational KPIs for Transdev
Australasia Group, ensuring financial information disclose is exhaustive and reliable,
▪ Regularly liaise and support the local finance teams and work in close collaboration with the HQ Budget
Holders
▪ Supervise the preparation of Group Month-End consolidation reporting including analysis of performance of
the subsidiaries,
▪ Contribute and lead business improvement projects within Transdev Australasia Group: streamline financial
processes, forecasting, budgeting and business planning,
▪ Perform detailed reviews of driving, maintenance, fleet, energy, other operational support and SG&A costs,
compared with budget and estimates, perform benchmarks between businesses,
▪ Assist businesses with financial reporting matters and knowledge development,
▪ Supervise Transdev Australasia month-end process, ensuring timeliness and accuracy,
▪ Ensure appropriate level of support for Finance Reporting suite out of PowerBi

2. Budget, Forecast, Long Term Plan

 ▪ Coordinate the Budgeting and Forecasting processes for the Group Consolidation and review of subsidiaries
management pack,
▪ Coordinate elaboration of Long Term Plan including review of subsidiaries template and prepare consolidated
plan,
▪ Responsible to develop and maintain adequate financial planning systems (Anaplan)

3. Consolidated Statutory Accounts

 ▪ Supervise the preparation of consolidated statutory accounts. Provide support (when required) to the teams
preparing the individual statutory accounts
▪ Support coordination of interim and year-end audit activities,

4. Internal Controls

 ▪ Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place and operating effectively in relation to the Group reporting
process,
▪ Ensure relevant procedures are documented in Promapp and kept up to date

5. Others

 ▪ Other duties and responsibilities may be required as determined with your manager from time to time,
